A PROFESSIONALLY STAFFED MENTORING SERVICE FOR AT-RISK YOUTH

Servicing Martinsville/Henry County and Danville/Pittsylvania  County

MISSION

The aim of Shining Diamonds Mentoring Service is to provide at risk youth with professionally trained mentors who can effectively lead individual and group educational and social development experiences.

For young people exiting detention centers, we assist in providing an easy transition from the institution to highly structured environments, such as, home, school and the community. 

​

Our goal is to provide a wide breadth of services that give our youth the tools to improve decision-making and inspire them to take a first step in their journey to success.

PROGRAMS & SERVICES

  • One on One and Group Mentoring Sessions on topics including, but not limited to:

    • Life skills training

    • Leadership development

    • Etiquette lessons

    • Conflict resolution strategies

    • Gang prevention techniques

  • Supervised homework and study sessions

  • Community resource referral program

SPECIALIZED SERVICES

Shining Diamonds offers two phases of support


  • Transition Phase

    • Establish a rapport with youth within the local community. 

    • Start program/services.


  • Community Phase

    • Educate youth on community resources through field trips and workshops.

    • Connect youth to the community through structured activities.
